Then I looked up the movie and it made over a 2mill loss. Only been listening for 2yrs,anyone know where I could find shows from after Beer League was released and his reaction and comments about it? Thanks, Ps on mobile sorry for derpy writing.

Sal was going at it with Artie I remember and said beer league sucked, and Artie fucking lost it! I remember everyone was trying to be polite about it up until then. They talked a lot about it on the lead up but after it came out I don't recall them ever mentioning the box office. I was always under the impression that it did well, but I guess not. Artie would always say it became profitable. I've seen it on premium channels, so that's a distinct possibility. Even if they only sold K DVDs and licensed it to Showtime.

It got a limited release in a handful of theaters and had to make a certain amount in order to get national release.

It didn't make enough, so that was the end of it. I'm sure it did ok on dvd, though. It's not a great movie but it's not awful, either. I thought it was pretty well-known that it didn't make much theatrically.

Artie said it played well in some theaters and I'm sure it did. Yeah if I remember correctly it bombed immediately and they pretty much never mentioned it again.

They never mention failures. You never hear how many books Robin sold this last time and you never hear about AGT ratings.

What about John Hein's TV show? Yup, it sucked so they don't bring it up.

It was mentioned a LOT on the show as the movie approached its release date. Artie found lots of creative ways to wedge it into nearly every conversation on some shows.

If you listen to those shows again -- starting before the movie was released, til a short while after it bombed -- I think you can witness one of Artie's relapses into heroin use. All of his telltale signs are flaring up like crazy, and the pressure must have gotten to him. He admits there were times when he was fucked up for a stretch and nobody really knew -- this, it seems, is one of those times.

They did promote the shit out of it though and Howard interviewed Cara Buono on the air.

But a while after Artie did talk about how fucked up he was on Heroin and how that almost caused the investors to pull the plug at the last minute.
